Peggy Guggenheim is our hero

Today we travelled to the Peggy Guggenheim museum which is right on the grand canal and was once her home. It was a very impressive space filled with the leading artists of the modern movements. It was even more inspiring to be reminded that she was dedicated to collecting modern art, not for her own purposes, but to amass the best collection of modern art for the world to see. She was quite the patron and very endearing. There were many personal photos of her with many of the greatest modern artists, as well of her family, pets and home. She is also buried there in the beautiful garden beside her beloved pets. Whatìs not to love about Peggy Guggenheim? Nothing, we decided as we sat and watched the boats go by from her terrace. Tomorrow the Biennale. Lisa

Anne and Lisa,

I am having the best time following you two around Italy.

Your students are very lucky to have such passionate and enthusiastic teachers.

If she was all that, why did Jackson Pollock pee in her fireplace? Guess I should rent the movie!

Daniela, I can only imagine it was because he was a big druck and her fire place was large enough not to miss. But, I could be wrong.
