Pictures, Pittiful Palace and the Uffizi

Sorry, we can't really post our pictures until we get home. If you'd like to view them after we return we plan to post them on a photo share site so that you can see them easily. We will have a link to the site on the blog. But rest assured we are snapping away, we have everything from great art, to street scenes, to amusing little vignettes, to the carrot and chicken leg dress in the theatre retrospective at the modern.
We just came out of the Pitti Palace which houses a ton of really great art inside this amazing old Palace. However, the Palace is in poor repair and you can't see the art because it is hung salon style and the lighting seem to all point to the ceiling. We did manage to see some beautiful paintings by squinting and standing to the side.
Lisa is a genious, and even though we were not supposed to be able to get into the Uffizi she found a site on line, paid the piper a few extra euros and got us in for tomorrow. She has posted the site for you all.
This afternoon we will zip into the Santo Spirito on our way to the Accademia to see David, our adorable hotel clerk, Carlo, scored us tickets for that sparing us the 4 hour line. We love Carlo and Gianni our hotel clerks.
We are sharing our hotel with a group of young college students who are here with their proffessors studying art and art history. They have the entire wing of the hotel we are in, except for our room. They are sweet and polite and stay up late giggling in the hallway. Last night I had to play mother and get my finger out and shaking in order for Lisa and I to get some sleep, which was a better choice than retribution on our end of the day. They spent the rest of the night shhhhing each other which still kept us awake, but at least it was charming. (Anne)

I guess it beats screaming at kids to get out of the FAC during lunch, right Anne?
